Organisational Capacity Strengthening
The topic of ‘financial management’ may seem challenging and often leaves small organizations unsure of where to start. In this regard, we organised HER Hub Financial Managment Workshop in May, inviting Amy from ‘The Association for the Advancement of Feminism’ to share her practical experience accumulated over the years. Amy explained the basic concepts of systematically recording income and expenses with 11 participants from 7 different organisations. She also provided various accounting document templates for immediate use. After the workshop concluded, online support was offered to address questions encountered by the participants during implementation.
All participants found the workshop highly practical, as it provided them with a clearer understanding of handling financial documents such as bank statements, checks, and receipts. The useful accounting templates reduced the time they spent on financial management. They also recognized the importance of regularly recording and producing financial reports as a means of being accountable to the community, enhancing organisational transparency, credibility, and reputation.
Event outcome:
- 11 participants from 7 different organisations learned more about the basic concepts of systematically recording income and expenses
- All participants found the workshop highly practical. They also recognized the importance of regularly recording and producing financial reports as a means of being accountable to the community, enhancing organisational transparency, credibility, and reputation.
